There is a right and a wrong way to climb the towers of Notre Dame in Paris

Follow these easy tips and don't waste your precious time standing in a long line in order to go and see the
famous Notre Dame gargoyles

On a recent trip to Paris with clients from California I tried the app "JeFile" for the first time. I was, over the course of the next five and a half hours, impressed again and again by how easy and accurate the app was. It saved us hours of waiting and wondering. Here's how it works:

(1) Go to your App Store (iPhone users) and find the free app "JeFile." Download will take some time, so be patient. Use Wi-Fi to download the app in order to save on your data usage.

(2) When you are in close proximity to one of the sites served by this "Skip the Line" service, you will see that site pop up on the JeFile app. I had to be about 300 meters away from the Notre Dame to see it pop up.

(3) You simply select the site you wish to visit, enter specifics such as how many people, select "First Available" and that's it. You are given a time of entry and you are reminded at an appropriate time to go and get in the line.

(4) Show your JeFile app countdown clock and QR Code to the people at the front of the line. They will ensure you are ushered in to the Notre Dame towers on time. We were! We wasted not a single minute standing around, instead filling our time with sight seeing and the Louvre.

Alternatively there are machines near the entrance to the towers (as you face the Cathedral, left and just around the corner of the left or North tower) where you can retrieve a ticket with a timed entrance. I found the JeFile app more user-friendly.
